Joy & Laughter

Did you know creating, experiencing, and choosing Joy is a remedy for releasing stuck emotions?

In Chinese medicine, we often use emotions to curb imbalance and unhealthy energy. When we consider the emotions and their impact on our health, we usually break them down to seven to keep it simple. The Seven Emotions are: Anger, Joy, Worry, Pensiveness, Sadness, Fear and Shock.

One way to use Joy & Laughter is to release stuck energy causing anger or frustration. Have you ever been so upset, and then all of a sudden something really funny happens, and it releases all that tension? I think we've all been there... and it's a perfect example of what I'm talking about.

"Joy makes the Mind peaceful and relaxed,

it benefits one's Life Energy by relaxing and slowing it down."

-The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine. 453 BCE.

Let me share with you one more. Joy can also be used to curb or control excessive sadness. When your energy is down or descending too much, deploy laughter to counter it. Keep your chin up, chest out, and watch something funny. Or go all out and visit our friends at Happier Valley Comedy. There you can master the art of laughter and not only receive heaps of Joy, but learn how to give it too.
